Prof. Dr. Amr El Shawarbi

Prof. Dr. Amr El Shawarbi is a German board-certified Neurosurgeon with over 25 years of international experience as a Consultant Neurosurgeon.

Since relocating to the UAE in 2006, he has held key positions as Head of the Neurosurgery Department and Medical Director in several prestigious hospitals. Prof. Dr. Amr has made notable contributions to the UAE healthcare landscape leading initiatives such as the establishment of SEHA’s first stroke program, pediatric neurosurgery, and neuromodulation. Prior to moving to the UAE, he worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover, Germany.

Prof. Dr. Amr has served as President of the Emirates Neuroscience Society, Honorary President of the Pan Arab Neurosurgical Society, and second Vice President of the World Federation of Neuroscience Societies (WFNS).

He is also a prolific researcher and speaker, he has published several important research papers/publications and presented at many national and international conferences.
